In this guide, we will walk you through the 5-step process to assemble your Divan bed frame. No heavy machinery required—just a screwdriver and about 20 minutes of your time.

What You Will Need

Before you start, make sure you have:

1. Space: Clear enough floor space in your bedroom to move the bed base around.

2. A Screwdriver: A standard Phillips head (crosshead) screwdriver.

3. A Helper (Optional): While you can do this alone, having a second person helps with lifting and aligning the headboard.

Step-by-Step Assembly Guide

Step 1: Locate the Hidden Parts (Don’t Panic!)

Common Question: “My bed arrived, but the legs and screws are missing!”

Don’t worry, they aren’t missing. To save space during shipping in Malaysia, manufacturers often pack the hardware inside the furniture.

• Go to the back of the headboard.

• Gently peel back the black velcro cover at the bottom corners.

• Reach inside, and you will find a bag containing the bed legs, screws, and fittings. Remove them and set them aside.

Step 2: Install the Bed Legs

Now that you have your parts, it’s time to get the base off the floor.

• Turn your Divan bed base upside down (or on its side) so the bottom is accessible.

• Locate the pre-drilled holes at each corner.

• Insert the bed legs and screw them in tightly.

• Tip: Ensure they are firm, but be careful not to over-tighten and strip the thread.

Step 3: Align the Base and Headboard

Once the legs are on, flip the bed base over so it is standing on its legs.

• Push the bed base against the wall or into the position where you want it.

• Bring the headboard over and align it against the back of the bed base.

• Ensure the width of the headboard matches the bed base perfectly.

Step 4: Prepare the Headboard for Connection

You need to secure the headboard to the bed frame so it doesn’t wobble.

• Go to the back of the headboard again.

• Gently open the black fabric cover at the bottom corners (just like you did in Step 1).

• This will reveal the structural wood and the screw holes needed for the final step.

Step 5: Secure the Headboard

This is the final step to a sturdy bed!

• Align the screw holes on the headboard with the corresponding area on the bed base.

• Using your screwdriver, direct screw the provided bolts/screws through the headboard and into the bed base.

• Make sure the connection is tight and the headboard does not move when you push it.

• Close the black velcro cover back up to keep everything looking neat.

Troubleshooting & Tips

• Can’t find the holes? Sometimes the fabric upholstery covers the pre-drilled holes. Run your finger along the wood to feel for the indentation, then carefully poke the screw through the fabric.

• Split Base: If you bought a King or Queen size in Malaysia, your Divan base might come in two halves. You will usually need to link these together as we have pre-fixed the sticky velco on each base.
